It\u2019s being brought in to promote apprenticeships with the aim of having three million people start apprenticeships between now and 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; color: #16497b;\">From April 2017 employers with a pay bill over \u00a33m per year will be required to pay 0.5% of that into the new apprenticeship levy. For example, if an employer has a pay bill of \u00a35m, it will pay \u00a325,000.
